Are you ready for the hottest tree on the market today?
If you haven’t seen or heard about the Eastern Redbud called Flame Thrower, prepare to be amazed. It produces an stunning spectacle of foliage colors from spring through fall.
This brilliant spectacle of changing color foliage begins as heart shaped leaves emerge bright burgundy red and fade to pinkish orange, continues to change to shades of yellow and eventually to lime green. This glorious array of colors occurs ALL at the same time. Spectacular, amazing, and beautiful, all characterize this awesome small tree. Fall colors on Redbuds are essentially yellows, but different color foliages provide different hues in fall as well.
This is an upright variety, perhaps more vigorous than some others, reaching about 20’ high and 15-20’ wide. It has the typical lavender pink blooms in the spring before leaves emerge. It is adaptable to both shade and sunny locations. Redbuds are native and typically deer resistant.
It is suggested they do not transplant well, so determine where you want them before you plant. So, young vigorous trees provide some advantage to larger specimens when first planting. But they have few pest problems.
You will be the envy of your neighborhood when you have one of these beauties.
